| Our Vision
Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Computerized Axial Tomography, Ultrasound,
and other Radiologic Services are slowly reaching the mature stage of
the business cycle. Notwithstanding, opportunities still bound in this
high tech sector of the medical imaging arena. We believe the following:
- We are in an environment still conducive to expanded outpatient diagnostic
services. An aging population in combination with new technology will
insure the need for additional services.
- All projects need a "hook". While important, demographic
and need assessment alone are not enough to warrant a project. There
must be a strategic relationship formed that insures a certain volume
of scans. This relationship can be in the form of an existing medical
practice, a hospital, a key physician group, or radiologist.
- For the next few years, we are in a highly competitive and commercial
environment. Conventional MRI and other diagnostic services are accepted
standards of care in any medical practice and the available volume of
procedures cannot be increased due to education. We must therefore offer
a better product, a better service, and market aggressively to change
referral patterns from one entity to another.
- There are technological changes occurring that will create an entirely
different and expanded market. We believe this market will include cardiac
MRI, computerized angiography, and ultra high speed CT which will feature
virtual colonoscopy, lung screening, heart calcium scoring and whole
body imaging. Our company will be poised to move in these directions
when the technology is truly available and reimbursable.
Our goal is to develop and establish two to three outpatients medical
imaging ventures per year for the next 4 to 5 years. MRI, High speed CT,
Ultrasound, Conventional X-ray, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, and Interventional
Radiology will be featured in assorted combinations in each of these facilities.
These imaging ventures will take many forms, including sole ownership,
joint ventures, and development and management agreements.
